It’s that Window of Vulnerability….

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Imperial Navy is this arrogant at the start of a war.

As for the reason why they lasted 1,100 years?

The fat gets burnt off, leaving only the cold, hardened steel.

    Nah, a 3rd Imperium Naval ship would have had competent marines, a captain that would have gone down defending their bridge(beacause either A. Solomani and too stubborn to admit defeat or B. Vilani since it’s TRADITION.) with a gauss pistol in one hand and a cutlass in another(or maybe the ancestral magnum revolver), and then a dead man’s switch self destruct
